The collection is a bibliographic collection defined and identified by a publisher, either on the product itself or in product information supplied by the publisher, where the books in the collection have no specific order (other than order of publication), shared subject, narrative, style or shared authorship, and are grouped by the publisher largely for marketing purposes. The collection has many of the characteristics of an imprint or marque. Used primarily in French book publishing, to distinguish between ‘série’ (using the normal code 10) and ‘collection’ (code 11), and where the collection éditoriale is not an imprint

La collection est une collection bibliographique définie et identifiée par un éditeur, soit sur le produit lui-même, soit dans les informations sur le produit fournies par l’éditeur. Les livres de la collection n’ont pas d’ordre spécifique, de sujet commun, de style narratif ou de contribution communs et sont réunis par l’éditeur pour des raisons commerciales principalement. La collection a sensiblement les mêmes caractéristiques qu’un imprint ou une marque. Utilisée uniquement dans l’édition francophone pour faire la distinction entre Collection (série) (code 10) et Collection (code 11) quand la collection n’est pas un imprint

Se trata de un conjunto bibliográfico definido e identificado por la editorial, ya sea en el producto en sí o en la información relativa al producto facilitada por la editorial. Los libros de este conjunto no tienen necesariamente un orden específico, ni un tema común, ni un estilo o autoría compartidos, y los agrupa la editorial fundamentalmente con criterios comerciales. Este tipo de conjuntos / colecciones tiene muchas de las características de un sello o una marca comercial. Se utiliza fundamentalmente en el sector del libro en Francia para distinguir entre una «série» (con el código 10) y una «collection» (código 11), cuando la «collection éditoriale» no es un sello
